In Wednesday’s post, I wrote about how I’m having to pay careful attention to my skin, in a way I haven’t had to worry about since I was fighting pimples as a teenager. Today’s post is about the products I use.
This is not a sponsored post. I’m not being paid to write about cool stuff that makes my life easier.
I wrote earlier that I’ve been a sucker for handmade soaps for years, even before I was a diabetic. There are two merchants I favor these days: Villainess and Bathhouse Soapery. Villainess’ products are a little more expensive, but the scent variety is unlike anything else I’ve seen. Silk & Cyanide is probably my favorite. Try the Whipped! body creme while you’re poking around. For Bathhouse, the Goat Milk Oatmeal is a go-to. I like that the scent isn’t too heavy, and the moisturizing level is just right. I’m also a big fan of the Cioccolato Coffee Scrub. How can you not love something that smells like chocolate and coffee?
Another product line I favor is Burt’s Bees. I was carrying around the beeswax lip balm for years before I was diagnosed with diabetes, and now I also use the cuticle cream and the peach and willow bark facial scrub on a regular basis. I keep several bottles of their cocoa butter lotion around the house for when I’m struck by the need to moisturize.
What’re your favorites?
